Speed keto is a mix keto diet and periodic fasting. It claims to provide faster weight loss.
Experts do not recommend it, mostly for those new to keto. It does work for quick weight loss, but it’s known to be difficult to keep up and can be risky for people with medical conditions – I say all diet can be dangerous for those with medical conditions – consult a medical doctor first and keep the doctor in the loop.

I often feel that these are “developed” by existing diets that do not give as significant results as the ketogenic one. The danger is that there is now a market of keto pills and services that suggest a fastest keto weight loss. These can be very dangerous to “try” to push your body into ketosis when you do everything not to be!
The other side of this new diet is fasting, Dr. Mark Cucuzzella, a professor at the West Virginia University School of Medicine. He has published several researches on keto and diabetes. He says that fasting can be difficult early in the process as dieters are not yet in ketosis, thus their bodies are not burning fat yet. This will/can cause hunger, fatigue and dropping off the wagon quickly.

Searches for “Speed Keto weight loss 2022” or “fastest Keto weight loss” spiked dramatically in late February this year. According to Google Trends, it isn’t new. But speed keto weight loss results are great for a little while and fade quickly.
Someone with a PhD in education, not a medical doctor, spelled it out. It is a registered trademark plan by Harlan Kilstein, an entrepreneur known as the Godfather of marketing. According to his LinkedIn. He is also owner of Completely Keto.
Kilstein apparently became involved in keto for his own weight problem, as per his website. He wrote a book named “Completely Keto” in 2018.
Harlan’s Speed Keto program launched shortly after. As for many, it offers ketogenic recipes, plan and fasting schedule to increase the speed of weight loss and push over the well-known ” keto and if weight loss plateau. ” The plateau occurs when we stop shedding weight after a few weeks in the diet.
Both the keto diet and fasting can help weight loss, if done properly
I call Keto a lifestyle, not just a diet. We started for weight loss after trying several other plans, then we realized we had more energy, and better overall health. Why lifestyle? We cook at home, no more pre-packaged lunches, we now grow our veggies, etc. We moved to the countryside and the local restaurants know we are on keto thus have dishes modified for us – try that in your suburb. 🙂
Doctors use ketogenic and fasting as a co-treatment for diabetes. This is not recent, in 2006, one of my colleagues was counting carbs and skipping lunches 4 times a week. It was recommended by his doctor to help with his medication. His limit was 50g a day. That was 16 years ago, keto + fasting was already working and recommended by a doctor!
BUT, the fastest keto weight loss are NOT right for everyone. People with a medical history shouldn’t attempt diets or fasting for long periods of time – like the 8/16 fasting plan). Work with a real medical professional to lose weight. I don’t recommend nutritionists, as the one we used made it much worse for us for a high price tag.
In case of doubt, use a weight loss calculator like this one but it often ends up with “buy this plan” with a discount. The plan tells you to cut carbs, exercise and buy more. Fortunately or unfortunately money doesn’t help.
The simple combination of the two (diet and harsh fasting) by eating one low-carb, high-fat meal per day can become a crash diet. Change happens one step at the time, not overnight, not with pills.

Keto can be difficult for beginners.
After adaptation and the keto flu, some will automatically eat less often during the day. High-fat dishes are more filling, and there are no sugar crashes that require carb intake. In our cases, we no longer snack between meals or while watching a movie. A fun fact, I was a popcorn aficionado and today I dislike the smell of it, certainly a side effect!
Why is it difficult? I say “is it” and not “might be” because it is difficult 🙂 The toughest for us was chocolate and bread cravings! For others it can be pizza (36g per medium slice), popcorn (21g for 1oz) or why not those delicious feel good Mars bar (36g per bar) we enjoy(ed) in the afternoon.
Who begs for it? Our body? nope, our brain. Our body runs on fat but our mind craves for the feel good food. Candies, sweets, pizza and that is a tough one to battle.
I would recommend to create keto weight loss timeline. It does help visually seeing the progress, we used a notepad but many use a keto weight loss calculator timeline on their phone.
Let’s go back to being on keto and if weight loss plateau…
The “a single meal a day” isn’t backed by serious evidence and could make it difficult to get the necessary daily nutrients. The idea of speed keto is to go in low-carb AND a 8/16 fasting mode. It’s true that fasting can speed up the process of losing weight, but it’s likely to be troublesome. Believe me, fighting cravings + hunger will be impossible.
Fast before the diet, especially a strict fasting of just one meal a day, can be already challenging as the brain runs on glucose for energy. Without a constant supply from food, you can feel fatigued and exposed to cravings and hunger crisis.
It is difficult to start off with fasting.
Many recommend going on the fat diet first so you don’t have hunger symptoms. Short-term fasting is more successful, but for the long term, it is challenging and can be risky for some.
The style of intermittent fasting showed in Speed Keto is “one-meal-a-day”, I saw it abbreviated to OMAD. It will help with weight loss, but imagine yourself not eating for 23 hours! I know it seems possible but it must be very difficult – I never tried because of it. I can skip a meal but 2?
Remember, the strictest diet, the more chance to get off the wagon and to resume bad habits with a revenge!
For a fastest keto weight loss diet, experts recommend a gentle approach
If you are looking to enjoy the benefits of keto or intermittent fasting, experts suggest a gradual and consistent way and to consult a Keto nutritionist and/or medical doctor.
As already discussed. It is not a diet; it is a lifestyle revolution. Fastest keto weight loss is a side effect of the diet.
Be careful with many Fastest Keto weight loss 2022 versions.
Many are trying too fast, you can’t fix years of “abuses” in a week. Some try to push you into ketosis while still on a high carb mode (this can be dangerous). Others are running border line low-carb, so you need to continue paying their efforts.
If you see pictures like the one below, it is simply IMPOSSIBLE in 8 days – don’t dream.
Or anything of that nature, like 10lbs in one week, lost 140lbs in 30days (almost 5lbs a day!) – there is NO Fastest Keto weight loss 2022 magical plans. Like for many other diets. It takes time, effort, and dedication. No silver bullets, but the money you throw away.

My takeaway, there are extreme dieting plans, such as extremely low-calorie, zero-carb, zero-fat plans. It will work for short term fastest keto weight loss, but it’s not worth it and might cause severe health issues. After you pass the keto weight loss first week that will go with the “keto flu”, you will definitively see constant pounds going away.
Not everyone needs to fast, to feel good or lose weight. Simple keto like avoiding processed food, high-carbs food and added sugar can make a big different for many of us. Did you know that one slice of pizza contains more carbs that 10 tsp of sugar?

I do not recommend a fastest keto weight loss program. You must go one way or another one depending on phase of weight loss:
- Fasting alone – tough to do with risks of starving your body
- Keto alone – sliming at a slower but constant rate
Then you are on keto for at least 4-6 weeks, you can do intermittent fasting together to increase the weight loss.
